Frequently Asked Questions
1. How many sessions are recommended?
Since literacy intervention is most effective when it is frequent and consistent, participants are expected to take three classes each week with limited exceptions. It is highly recommended that your child is consistent in order to make successful progress with literacy acquisition.

2. Where will the sessions take place?
In person and virtual sessions are available. In person sessions will take place in the Brooklyn Heights branch of the Brooklyn Public Library.
Virtual sessions can also be expected in the case of inclement weather, or to provide a make up session.

3. How many sessions should I schedule each week?
Each session will be one hour, and you have the option to schedule one week, one month, or three months in advance. The earlier you schedule your sessions, the more you will save. See the chart below.

4. When are sessions scheduled?
Sessions are held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 4:00pm and 6:15pm. Clients are expected to cancel 48 hours before a class or earlier. If I need to reschedule for an unexpected emergency, the client can choose to make up the session virtually or in person during the hours that the Brooklyn Heights branch of the Brooklyn Public Library is open.
5. What makes your services exceptional?
As a NYC certified English as a Second language teacher who has also worked as a Department of Education literacy coach, I have a success rate at teaching children of all skill levels. I participate in the most up to date professional development in order to use research proven methods and data to meet the needs of students who are English language learners and students who have learning disabilities.
Addressing the social emotional sensitivities that young people have when they are struggling with literacy is also a vital component of my success as an educator.
My expertise includes teaching children and adolescents how to speak, listen, read, and write in English; and teaching educators how to integrate literacy into their diverse curriculums.
6. What if my child needs to miss a session?
Clients are asked to provide 48 hour notice via email prior to a cancellation. A mutual agreed on date and time will be scheduled, A makeup will not be granted for a session cancelled with less than 24 hours notice.

Payments for classes are non refundable.
